NORTH ISLAND
Description
Capturing the essence of barefoot luxury, North Island is home to an exclusive luxury lodge. It is a totally unique choice and conducts a series of ecological and conservation programmes in which guests may participate.TRANSFER: The island is approximately a one hour boat journey or a 20 minute helicopter flight from Mahe. Guests are requested to travel to the island by helicopter, as the boat landing is not too safe or comfortable.
Accommodation
The 11 Villas (4,890 sq ft) are completely self-contained and are raised over a metre off the ground to catch the cooling island breezes. A luxuriously proportioned master bedroom with change-room and writing area leads onto a large en-suite bathroom with marble bath and two showers, one indoor and one outdoor. The bedrooms are air-conditioned and all rooms have overhead punkah punkah‿ fans. The fully retracting sliding doors allow for uninterrupted views onto the lawns and the turquoise seas in front of each Villa. A private plunge pool and sala are the finishing touches in this private sanctuary. Each Villa has two bedrooms, a main bedroom and a second bedroom/study, a lounge and dining area with adjoining kitchenette.Hotel Facilities
There is a no menu‿ concept of dining in the restaurant i.e. the chef, Dereck Nair, speaks to the guest upon arrival, explains the North Island cuisine concept, finds out their food preferences and then develops the menus daily around this information. The North Island Spa offers a wide range of exquisite treatments to relax both mind and body. Snorkelling, scuba diving, sea kayaking and island hopping are all available. HOLISTIC BACK, FACE AND SCALP TREATMENT - An all-embracing treatment incorporating a full ESPA facial, with acupressure, face and scalp massage and a deep cleansing back exfoliation. This treatment also includes a relaxing back massage with or without hot stones.
OSHADI HERBAL MUD ENVELOPMENT AND MASSAGE - After a sea salt exfoliation and aromatherapy oil massage, plants and spices are infused to form a nourishing mask that warms and hydrates the skin and helps to relieve aching muscles and joints - a gift of nature to restore perfect equilibrium. The complete treatment includes a scalp massage for total relaxation.
WILD YAM AND SOYABEAN SKIN ENVELOPMENT - begins with a full-body skin brushing to stimulate the lymphatic system followed by a body exfoliation with peppermint polish. A luxurious full body massage is followed by a body cream, wild yam and marine mud envelopment. Ultimate tranquillity is achieved with a mind-calming scalp massage.
Other treatments include: personalised holistic treatments to rejuvenate the body, mind and soul.
